Chinese Astrology |
Chinese Astrology is based on a twelve year Lunar Cycle in contrast to the Western Astrology which is based on the months of the year. According to the Chinese calendar the sign of an individual is based on the year the person was born. All the signs in the calendar are represented by signs of different animals. The Chinese believe that all the animals have a set of attributes which every individual of the respective signs have in them. It was considered that all these 12 animals were selected by Lord Budha.
It is said that when Lord Budha was about to die he invited lot of animals to visit him but a very few came and the ones that came were: The Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Budha honored all these animals by assigning them the place to represent the 12 phases of the Chinese Zodiac Signs
